I love lists. I love making lists. I love checking things off lists. I love alphabetizing lists. (I love alphabetizing anything, though.) I love writing lists when I should be paying attention in class. (It’s my form of doodling.) I love organizing my thoughts through lists. I don’t remember what started my obsession for listing, but I can tell you it’s long-lasting and still going strong. Somewhere along the way, my cousin and I formed the idea to turn the bucket list format into a yearly list. The plan was to do something like, “21 Things to Do While I’m 21” or “22 Things to Do Before I Turn 22”. Of course, the older you get, the more things get put on the list, but I’d like to think of that as a way of keeping life new and exciting. The goal isn’t to be too crazy with it. It’s not about writing down 20 countries you want to visit and expecting to achieve that in a year, unless you’re one of those people that can actually do so. It’s about taking a mix of things you want to do, both easy to accomplish and a little more challenging, and writing them down with the intention of actually doing them. If I’m being honest though, I tend to entirely forget about the list until about a month before my birthday when I start thinking about making a new one. In a way, I think it makes it more fun to see what I ended up doing that I didn’t intentionally do just to cross off my list. So far, the best I’ve done is 7/23 which means there’s room for improvement! Without further ado, I give you…
